Life as Margaret Dygas has experienced it has had more than it's fair share of unusual twists and turns. With a sound born in New York, ripened in London and refined in Berlin, Margaret Dygas is an artist whose sound possesses a true international resonance. Born and raised in Poland, at age 11 Margaret and her family moved to Germany, before finally relocating to San Jose, California. Surrounded by old school hip-hop as a teenager, her discovery of house music came in the early nineties following CONTINUE READING
London based producers Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman make house music that’s inseparable from the genre’s tradition but comes with both a widescreen ambition and a distinctly UK underground edge.
Timeless, fresh, both classic and contemporary and unmistakably theirs, Dusky's sound is influenced by everything from deep Detroit techno and bumping UK garage to classical and avant-garde electronica.
In a short time, the London based duo have rapidly marked themselves out as producers CONTINUE READING
For your Sunday dish of serotonin I have decided to showcase a very active producer from London, UK. Jobe has released a new EP called "Keep Control" and two other new tracks all within a month. Talk about putting in work. His deep tones have funky melodies, and his use of vocal samples are very unique. He even has samples from Morpheus in the Matrix in "The Red Pill." His work truly is a treat to listen too and he has made a big fan out of me. Enjoy the rest of your bender :)
Another beautiful Sunday to sit back and replenish some serotonin to after another hectic weekend. This week we have the Frenchman Amine Edge with some funky house grooves to fix your tarnished pitiful soul. Born in 1983 in the South of France, Amine discovered House music at an early age and started playing at clubs from at age 16. His first single was released in 2007 followed by several EPs and mixes.
Amine Edge is known in France and in the rest of the world as one of the symbolic figures CONTINUE READING
Happy Sunday folks. This Serotonin Sunday is going to be glorious as we embark on our third and final day of EDC out here in Sin City. Quick bio on the deep house duo from France and then we're out back on the battlefields. Damien Roussel and Raphael Cesario first crossed paths in the summer of 2011 and almost immediately The Mekanism was born. Prior to the birth, both men had been DJing and producing separately for considerable time.
Damien began his path into a musical career in 2000 DJing CONTINUE READING
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend out there, and if you reside outside the United States then make it a wonderful Sunday. Few people bring a truly original sound to house music. At a relatively young age, Hamburg’s Martin Stimming did just that, demonstrating a sophisticated yet accessible sound that’s beyond his years. Two years after hooking up with Solomun’s Diynamic Music, his 2008 breakthrough hit Una Pena made the electronic world sit up and take notice, CONTINUE READING
It's been quite a while since our last Serotonin Sunday, so it's only right we bring it back in such fashion. Guy Gerber has always been comfortable as an outlier. From being the rock kid at the rave, to the Israeli DJ on the European club circuit, to the electronic producer with a fetish for live instruments, he tends to skirt the edge of whatever scene he's in. It's a position that suits him well––so far it's led to dozens of lush, melodic records, an ever-evolving live act and his own label, CONTINUE READING
