Grigsby’s 1949 Launch Party at Conveyor @ Fred Segal May 16th 7pm-10pm Comments

Long time pal, staunch supporter and former Conveyor employee, Jesse Grigsby debuts his new project, Grigsby's 1949. The Brand is founded on classic designs that reflect our American history during the 40's as his Grandfather, also Jesse Grigsby (1911-1995), travelled from Tennessee to California to open an auto shop. Maintaining the quality of our country's pastime Grigsby preserved these precious moments with a camera and a wrench. Grigsby's 1949 is a timeless homage to the foundation on which CONTINUE READING

Sound and Spybar present Crew Love | Coachella Pool Party | The Sagauro Comments

Sound Nightclub and Spybar team up for the best pool party of Coachella weekend 2. The Sagauro is hosting this wet soirée and Crew Love is providing the tunes. With a line up consisting of Wolf+Lamb, Soul Clap, Pillowtalk (Live), Nick Monaco and Navid Izadi (Live) I can only imagine how special this Sunday is going to be. Additionally, I would bring some cash because Crew Love designer Jacques Smith is going to be setting up shop and getting you laced up with the hottest fashion in the desert. CONTINUE READING

The Footnotes: The Button Down Pullover Comments

Taylor Stitch - Lavender Rugby Stripe Pullover  This summer has been a bit dull for men's fashion. There have been items here and there that we like--like it’s becoming clear that 90’s hood style is starting to reemerge--but then there is one preppy trend that we're feeling: the button down pullover (or "popover" if you're over seas). This cut is usually reserved for Hawaiian shirts, but as the Hawaiian shirt heads toward jumping the shark, we’re seeing the button down pullover swim to more CONTINUE READING

The Footnotes: Pyrex Vision Comments

Do you remember when Kanye wore a woman’s blouse during his Coachella performance last year? Some called it the best pop-fashion moment of the century. Well, the guy that dressed Kanye for Coachella and keeps him fresh on a daily basis (leather kilt with black Jordan’s anyone?) is Virgil Abloh, Chicago native stylist/designer. Virgil has just teamed up with Chicago boutique RSVP Gallery for an exclusive line of t-shirts that won’t hurt your pocket as much as a Givinchy T, but will still CONTINUE READING

The Footnotes: Summer Watch Comments

When it gets hot out one of my favorite looks is a clean white t (I tend to go with the normal collar but you can do a v-neck too) and a watch that speaks for itself. I’m not talking about something that looks like it belongs around a raver’s neck. Rather, I mean a timepiece that shows sophistication to balance out the casual feel of the rest of your outfit. Every fashion source will tell you when summer comes around to switch your watch band to a cotton or nylon one that looks like you just CONTINUE READING

The Footnotes: The Red Label Tote Comments

Filson Red Label Tote If 2011 was the year of the backpack for men’s fashion it seems that the tote/beach bag will dominate spring/summer 2012. And last year I picked up the Filson Rucksack, which makes sense that Filson would come out and make the tote of choice for this year. The Seattle based company has come out with their Red Lable tote that gets our top choice. But if you’re looking for other options we highly recommend Jack Spade or even J. Crew. Jake Spade Hotel Coal Bag J. Crew CONTINUE READING

The Footnotes: The Summer Bomber Comments

To me the only downside of the Winter leaving for the party filled Summer is that you can't layer clothes for anther six months. Put the pea-coats and cashmere away and break out the white khakis and St. James cotton sweaters. But I refuse to bury all my jackets, something about layers makes an outfit just a bit more complex and thought through. My favorite summer jackets are these Golden Bear ones below. The color blocking is just what I'm feeling for the upcoming seasons, or Coachella CONTINUE READING
