Pets Recordings the label of Catz ‘n Dogz has been a revelation since its launch in 2010. The success of the imprint can be firmly attributed to the label bosses desire to match upfront dancefloor hits with unique and creative compositions. Very much a mirror of their own work. The labels latest offering sees the return of Chmara Winter, the Polish duo who impressed with their 2011 debut “Powidlo.” Kris and Bart’s intricate productions and work with audio textures are always a delight and whilst their perfectionism has been known to frustrate their Pets bosses (which producer doesn’t right?), their friendship and trust in the air’ing of Catz ‘n Dogz has lead to them becoming one of the most exciting musical partnerships of today. “Would You Like To F Me?” sees Chmara Winter teaming up with Sroczyski and again showcasing their blend of organic dub techno and ‘Yazz’, a local style of music from their home town of Bydgoszcz. This combination is further enhanced and bolstered by what the boys describe as ‘chunky flava’, a weight to their slo-mo beats which, when matched with the sexy and at times downright dirty vocal of Ewa Pruss and delicate Sax licks from esteemed Saxophonist Marek Pospieszalski, creates something extra special.
The challenge of remixing “Would You Like to F Me?” was taken up by Tim Paris and Walker & Royce. Tim’s rework has already caused a stir off the back of Catz ‘n Dogz recent Sonar gigs. The London based Frenchman has turned in a sultry yet powerful mix that is driven by its imperious synth stabs throughout. From a veteran of the scene to New York up-and-comers Walker & Royce. The Nervous Records duo are set for a ground-breaking year with a host of impressive releases in the pipeline. Pick it up off beatport [HERE].
