The Footnotes: Tassels 0
Fashion can be tough, especially men’s fashion where inches can change whether it looks like you found it from your parent’s closet or tailored to you. So, with a topic as detail-specific as the subtle points of style, we thought what a better space than The Footnotes, a weekly series, every Tuesday to talk about fashion trends, our favorite looks or must-haves. I’m Wilson Says and let’s get right to it.
Sure, if you’re going to a concert maybe you wear some canvas Vans or maybe a crisp pair of Jordan 3s—if you’re daring enough with all the spilled drinks and dancers just waiting to step right on that elephant print. But you can’t always dress like you’re going to a show—and if it were me, I wouldn’t dress that way even if I were going to see someone spin live. Loafers have been a go-to as a casual look with a bit more class and style. Now, they’re feeling a bit stale and the monk-strap just looks like it’s trying too hard. That’s why I’m all about tassels for 2012. They have the flare that stands out in a crowd but maintains a laid back cool that doesn’t come easy. If you’re looking for a leather tassel, we recommend the classic Alden. Or if you want to step your game up go for the purple velvet—the ladies’ll love it.
